Proceedings of New India Manthan – Sankalp se Siddhi programme at KVK Pilibhit on 05.09.2017



The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Smt Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Minister of Women and Child Development, Govt. Of India. In this programme Deputy Director Agriculture Pilibhit, Sh. D. V. Singh, Sub Divisional Agriculture Extension Officer, Ms. Ritusha Tiwari, District Development Manager, NABARD, Sh. S. Dutta, Deputy Pproject Director, ATMA, Rajkumar, Bhoomi Sanrakshan Adhikari, Sh. Devendra Pratap Singh and officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Livestock, Incharge of KVK, Dr Faiz Mohsin team of scientists of KVK and banks, alongwith progressive farmers (more than 600) were participated in the program. Mrs. Gandhi emphasized the need of doubling farmers income upto 2022 and showed her interest and shared her views on PMFBY, PMKSY, Organic Farming, National Food Security Mission in detail. She pledged with all the people present to double the farm income upto 2022. She explained her concern specially for promotion of chemical free farming, use of safer pesticides in agriculture, non burning of crop residues, utilization of Water hyacinth for chatai making for rural entrepreneurship development for safe environmental protection. Diversification of crops in summer season such as apple and cujltivation of mehndi for extra income of the farmers in the villages. She emphasised on judicious use of water by drip and sprinkler system and conserving water through harvesting in the village ponds through MNREGA. She asked all the farmers of the district to reduce the urea in the crops and use of balanced fertilizers . She also reiterated to minimize the pesticide load to save the environment and also mankind from the ill effects of pesticides on their health.

Earlier Dr S. S. Dhaka, Scientist, KVK Pilibhit welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries including participating farmers and extension functionaries. He had given the information on the 7 impact points identified for dubling the farmers income upto 2022 and also shared the knowledge about ongoing government schemes such as PMFBY, PMKSY, Soil Health cards, organic farming, blue revolution, livestock development and cluster frontline demonstrations on pulses and oilseed under NFSM by the KVK. Dr N. C Tripathi of KVK Pilibhit emphasized the need of water conservation and discussed the technique of drip and sprinkler irrigation in different crops of the district. Dr Reena Sethi gave the knowledge about diversification of the crops and asked the farmers of villages nearby to forests, to take some alternate crops rather than sugarcane to avoid the attack of tigers in their villages.

On this occasion different departments, organizations and companies put the exhibition for providing information and new technologies, organic products, insecticides, pesticides, implements and value added products for the participating farmers.

Deputy Director Agriculture also gave remarks for the various schemes of the department for the welfare of the farmers. DDM, NABARD discussed various schemes and helps being provide by the banks for the welfare of the farmers.

At the last Dr S S Dhaka, proposed the vote of thanks to the minister for sparing her valuable time and other participatig district authority, officials of line department, exhibition putting agencies, press and Media.
