To generate employment in farm and non-farm sector.

Improve socio-economic condition of rural community.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, pilibhit has been providing technology backstopping for the farming community since inception in 2000. It has become a role model for other extension agencies of the district in providing new extension models for technology dissemination. The KVK has been providing different extension advisory services coupled with different input supply services like seed, seedlings, grafts, biopesticides, soluble fertilizers and plant protection inputs. It has been the emphasis of the KVK Pilibhit to provide these extension advisory services along with the extension of various inputs for increasing the adoption of various latest and improved technological packages of different crops.

The KVK has carved a niche for itself by providing a new paradigm shift in technology dissemination process for different extension agencies in the district. The group organization efforts of KVK Pilibhit through progressive Farmers Club and Women Self Help Groups have highlighted its role in the technological assessment, refinement and dissemination process. Important stakeholders in agriculture i.e. rural youths and women who were hitherto neglected by conventional extension system were involved in these extension practices. The KVK has used Information and Communication Technology as a tool for dissemination of information. The display of information on flexes, advisory and information services through mobile based SMS based information delivery have led to a major breakthrough for transcending conventional information delivery channels.

The outcome of extension efforts is a testimony to the genuine efforts of the KVKs technological dissemination process. The methodology of extension dissemination process of KVK Pilibhit has served as a role model for the policy makers, executive authorities, extension agencies and students in adopting the innovative extension methodologies and replicating the efforts to bring about desired changes in technology delivery.
